USPSA matches are exciting
and fast-paced, and require competitors to be extremely
familiar with rules and procedures before participating in
matches. You shouldn’t think that we don’t welcome new
shooters though. We’ll go out of our way to get you
involved. If you’ve never seen a real USPSA match we invite
you to come see one (bring eye and ear protection) and
introduce yourself. We’ll be happy to answer questions and
get you pointed in the right direction.
www.uspsa.org is our
national organizations website and the rules are available
here.
There is a set of free videos
you may find helpful at
www.yorkuspsainstruction.blogspot.com as well as
information on classes that form occasionally to get new
shooters started.
We require shooters who are
not USPSA classified, or have not shot USPSA at York before
to pass a safety check. This is a brief shooting test in
which we can assess your safety and understanding of our
rules. You must arrange for this prior to the match you
intend to shoot in. Sometimes we do this the day of the
match sometimes we don’t. Contact Howard at
hkbrt@verizon.net to
arrange one well ahead of time.
Pre-registration is mandatory for all USPSA matches.
Sign-up for the USPSA matches
at York starts 5 days before each match and is required.
Email your name, USPSA #, division, and squadding
preferences to
yorksignup@gmail.com You should receive a confirmation
email within a day or two.
NOTE:
The start times for USPSA matches vary due to weather and
match specifics. Generally they are outlined in the
match announcement email. Match details are also available
and up-to-the-minute at
www.yorkpistol.blogspot.com.
It is always a good idea to check it before coming to the
